In the past, my students have been really into Groundhog Day for some reason. I used that interest and the inspiration from Little Red's Schoolhouse totally adorable freebie groundhog graphics to create this research project.
I found some groundhog and Groundhog Day-related articles, created differentiated comprehension questions for each article.
There is also a writing task which prompts students to develop their own opinion about whether or not groundhogs can predict the arrival of spring.
So there it is, my first week back to work in reading and writing. It makes going back to work a LOT less intimidating.
If you think your students would like this project, find it on my TpT store here. I will send a free copy to the first commenter on this post. {Please leave your email address.}
